Keene Building Products Garners Two 2011 Awards for Design Excellence [ADEX]
Mayfield Heights, OH, -- Keene Building Products Inc. has been named an award winner for Building Products in the Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) competition, sponsored by Design Journal magazine.
In the last 16 years, ADEX has become the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade.
“The 2010-11 ADEX Awards attracted upwards of 500 companies submitting more than 1,500 innovative new products,” said John Platter, executive director for ADEX. “The ADEX Award has recognized many outstanding product designs over the years, and Keene Building Products RC Assurance and Quiet Qurl RF Noise Control Mat has earned its places among that elite group.”
RC Assurance™ is a steel clip designed to aid in the installation of resilient channels. The product acts as an impenetrable washer between the channel and joist. The snap-on clip works with any resilient channel, but is specifically designed for use with RC Deluxe from Dietrich.
Quiet Qurl® RF is an alternative for all four versions of the standard product. It is designed for use when the gypsum concrete pour is not to standard thickness (1.0” with QQ 52/013 and 55/025, 1.5” with QQ 60/040, and always with QQ 65/075). The product matches a fiberglass fabric and coated fiberglass scrim, which are adhered together to create the separation layer. It is used in combination with the standard “entangled net” core material.

All of the entries in each of the ADEX categories have potential for three award levels of platinum, gold or silver. Judges awarded points based on form, function, value, and fitness for particular purpose. Total points earned determined each winner’s award level. All winners will be published in the Summer 2011 issue of Design Journal, the international trade publication for interior designers, architects and facility managers.
