The Honolulu chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the Construction Specifications Institute are proud once again to co-produce the Pacific Building Trade Expo with presenting sponsor HONBLUE. This is Hawaii’s premier exposition for architects, designers, landscape architects, engineers, builders, contractors and other AEC professionals.

For 16 years Expo has brought together the design and construction industries for a full day of stimulating seminars, networking opportunities, prize drawings and an exhibition hall showcasing the latest products and services of nearly 200 local and national vendors.

    Seminar: Session D1

    Multi-Family Sound Control

    8:00 - 9:00 AM, Room 318A

There are many ways to solve the sound dilemma in multi-family construction.

This presentation will help architects learn and understand how noise is measured, types of noise, and how to build and design with noise control on your mind.

You will learn the different elements involved in an entangled net sound system and how any multi-family construction can benefit from it.

The objectives are to review how noise results are measured and types of noise in building design; discuss and identify the most common acoustical systems for quiet living in multi-family, and understanding that one component is not the solution in controlling noise; compare the performance of various building materials needed to reach certain classification standards, as well as establish the benefits of living in noise-free environments; and finally, to establish the best practices for healthy living with the

use of an entangled net sound system.
