Exterior cement stucco and a few other claddings are attached directly to the substrate. The stucco industry is in the process of shifting gears. Construction practices and materials have changed over the last decades. We can’t go about business as usual with the same methodologies as we learned coming up through the ranks. Designs sometime are more conducive for aesthetics rather than performance and shedding water. Building are dying because of moisture, especially wood frame and plywood sheathed structures.
